How to support me

I made quickly made this poster as someone from the community asked me back in 2023 if a diagnosis helped. For me personally a diagnosis helped more in the fact that I knew what to research further as it confirmed my doubts. It also allowed me to be on the lookout for signs, identify the traits, and know from research how to approach Elyza's challenges.

I made the posters as they allow me to reflect, to take a step back and put it all on paper. It is my own mind mapping system. It also helps me have it black on white to explain to others - friends and families, how to approach Elyza. Often friends and families are hesitant in how to approach Elyza as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is unknown territory for many. The posters allow Mommy and Daddy to speak one language for Elyza as we advocate for me - as we take on the role of being her voice to communicate what she cannot communicate.
