I am Elyza's mommy. My personal background is in
Education: I have a Masters of Arts in ICT Education; with over 15 years of international school teaching experience teaching different subjects from information and communication technology (ICT), to Mathematics, to Thinking skills, to Design; I have assisted at the University of Nottingham, UK, university professors in the FutureLab: Innovation in Education programme;
Information and Communication Technology (ICT): I have a licence de sciences et technologies mention informatique (BSc Information Technology); I worked as a debugger, computer network administrator, and game designer; I studied how to use ICT to enhance education;
Psychology: I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology; I assisted school counsellors to support students emotionally and socially; I have delved into the human psyche to provide myself a better understanding of how the mind works, as well as to explore the triggers and barriers to better learning;
Service: I have worked as service learning coordinator for many international schools; I worked with different parties helping flora and fauna, people in need, non-governmental organisations and charities, inclusion and special educational needs;
My daughter who is now 5 years old has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) when she was 3 years old. I would now like to use my background in education and psychology, and my experience as a mother exploring my daughter's autism to share it all with others who could benefit from what I learned over the past years.
Things happen for a reason. I am an educator, I was a service learning coordinator and a design teacher, I studied psychology and ICT to apply them to enhance education, ... so why not use my skill and experience to create a webpage
to share information and awareness on autism spectrum disorder;
to provide support through ideas, life experience, strategies, tools;
to encourage acceptance of ASD;
to explore sensory processing difficulties;
to overcome communication challenges;
to make tomorrow a better place for all to live in harmony and respect.
